Potassium Titany Phosphate(KTiOP4 or KTP) is widely used in both commercial and military lasers including laboratory and medical systems, range-finders, lidar, optical communication and industrial systems. It has a lot of exceptional properties as followings:
l Large nonlinear optical coefficient
l Wide angular bandwidth and small walk-off angle
l Broad temperature and spectral bandwidth
l High electro-optic coefficient and low dielectric constant
l Large figure of merit
l Nonhydroscopic, chemically and mechanically stable
KTP is the most commonly used material for frequency doubling of Nd:YAG and other Nd-doped lasers, particularly for the low or medium level power density. Applied to diode-pumped Nd:YVO4 lasers, KTP has provided the basis for the construction of compact green solid state laser systems in industry applications.
