
Quartz glass has a series of excellent properties, such as high purity, small expansion coefficient, good thermal stability, high softening temperature, while it also has excellent electrical insulation characteristics, low and stable ultrasonic delay performance, good chemical stability, good ultraviolet, visible and near-infrared spectrum performance and good radiation resistance. Because the coefficient of thermal expansion of quartz glass is very small, its thermal stability is particularly good. The product has a strong ability to withstand acute cooling and acute heat and temperature difference, and can generally withstand the acute cooling and acute heat test of 1200℃-15℃.
The high temperature resistance of quartz glass is better than any other kind of glass because of its extremely high viscosity, and quartz glass maintains a large viscosity even in the molten state. Quartz glass is an insulating material, and the inherent resistance at room temperature is 1018Ω㎝, which is equivalent to 103~106 times of ordinary glass. At room temperature, the dielectric constant of quartz glass is very stable for all frequencies, but the surface increases with the increase of temperature. Quartz glass at high temperature, high pressure and high-frequency electric field, still can maintain a high dielectric strength and resistance, and almost no loss, so quartz glass is an excellent high temperature electrical insulation material.
