The melting point of zirconium dioxide is higher than that of zirconium, up to 2700℃, and it is a material with good fire resistance in nature. Its thermal conductivity is poor, but the electrical conductivity is very strong, the corrosion ability is also very strong, even if heated to more than 1900 degrees Celsius will not be with molten aluminum, iron, nickel, platinum and other metals, silicate and acid slag action. Therefore, it can be used to make crucible for melting precious metals, refractory tubes, heat-resistant glass and heat-resistant enamel. Adding zirconium dioxide to enamel and glass can make them more resistant to acid and alkali corrosion. The high temperature furnace lined with zirconia will not increase much after heating, and the temperature change will have little effect on it, and the furnace body will not crack due to thermal expansion and contraction, which can greatly extend the life of the furnace. With zirconia as a refractory material, adding 5% calcium oxide as a stabilizer, its heat resistance temperature is 500 degrees higher than alumina, and its adiabatic capacity is three times higher than before adding. The white zirconia mixed into the ceramic, can make the ceramic more white and bright, more heat resistant, strength has also increased, with this ceramic to make high temperature insulation porcelain bottles, insulation capacity is very strong, the expansion coefficient is very small.
